Wayne State University

Chinese Language & Culture

The Chinese Language and Culture program prepares candidates to become certified teachers with a major or minor in Chinese Language and Culture.  It is available primarily at the secondary or K-12 level and occasionally at the elementary level.  The program may be part of initial teacher certification or added as an endorsement to an existing Michigan teaching certificate.  At the initial certification level, the program is primarily designed for students who already hold an undergraduate degree and therefore is most often part of a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.

At the completion of their program students will receive a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, a secondary teaching certificate and additional endorsements that have been part of their program.

Upon completion of all requirements Wayne State University will recommend the student to the Michigan Department of Education for the Secondary Provisional Teaching Certificate.
