Bilingual/Bicultural Education

Bachelor - Elementary

Student in the Bilingual/Bicultural program will receive teacher certification at two levels: (1) the Elementary (Kindergarten-Grade 5 and Grades 6-8) in a self-contained classroom and may include one or more certificate endorsements or authorizations to teaching grade 6 to 8 in departmentalized classrooms or (2) the Secondary Certificate (Grades 6 to 12) in subject area endorsements on the teaching certificate.

At the elementary level, students will have

  1. a comprehensive major (45 credits) that provides depth and balance across content standards in: integrated  science, mathematics, social studies, language arts, health, physical education and the arts.
  2. one world language major or minor or student-centered minor (English as a Second Language, Bilingual Education).
