Admission Requirements

The M.Ed. program is designed to provide professional preparation for individuals with bachelor's degrees in Art and who seek a Master's Degree in Visual Arts Education.  Students applying to this program must have received the Michigan Provisional Certificate in Visual Arts education prior to application.  It is possible to teach full-time while earning credits toward the Master of Arts in Education degree.

To be considered for the M.Ed. program in Art Education, applicants must present evidence of:

  1. A bachelor's degree or higher in Visual Arts Education, Studio Art, or Fine Arts from an accredited college or university.
  2. Verification of Teacher Certification.
  3. An overall honor point average of 3.0 or higher.
