Academic Interests

My research interests include the impact of psychosocial factors, gender stereotypes, athletic identity, and parental influences on youth female athletes, particularly females in the sport of hockey.
I was a teacher for more than 16 years before returning to school to pursue a PhD. I have been an off-ice hockey coach/trainer for many years as well. I spend a great deal of time in hockey rinks as I have two children that both play hockey. My daughter plays on an all-girls travel team and my son was drafted to the OHL, and plays for the Erie Otters.
