Dr. DeBlase teaches master's and doctoral courses  in English education and in  reading, language and literature.  She is the program coordinator for Reading, Language, and Literature.

Academic Interests

Adolescent literacies;  gender and literacy; sociocultural theories of literacy and identity; 21st century literacies.

Area Of Expertise

Dr. DeBlase's current research focuses on digital literacies and adolescent identities; writing development and instruction; and inquiry based instruction.
