Dr. Waker is an Academic Services Officer in Academic Services in the College of Education at Wayne State University. She coordinates admissions for Master of Arts in Teaching, Education Specialists programs, and doctoral programs. She also coordinates Master's Orientations and the annual Education Job Fair.  Coordinator of special admission programs for pathways, Arabic and Chinese certification programs and updating of curriculum guides for graduate programs. She is a Fellow in the university's Academic Leadership Academy where she is involved in digital badges and micro-credentialling initiatives for the college. Her doctorate is in Instructional Technology. 

Dr. Waker is past president of the Consortium for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching with Technology (COATT) and the PI on the federal Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to use Technology (PT3) grant. She currently is on the Board of Directors for the Community Telecommunications Network (CTN) and was on the university's Campus Technology Leaders Council and Academic Technology Advisory Committee. She is an active member of the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL). 

Research Interests

Digital badging and micro-credentials for student learning and development, connected learning, mobile learning, and classroom technology integration.

Community Engagement Activities
