Master of Arts in Teaching - Secondary
Social Studies Education offers only a major for Secondary Education.
Both majors and minors are offered for Secondary Education in the individual Social Studies disciplines of Economics, History and Political Science.
Upon graduation with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education you will not only be a very well rounded & informed person, you will be certified to teach any Social Studies subject (Economics, History, & Political Science) 6 - 12.
After you have been admitted to the M.A.T. program, you should meet with your advisor to complete your Plan of Work. It must be submitted to the Division of Academic Services, Graduate Admission Office for approval, prior to completion of 12 credit hours of graduate coursework.

Content courses for secondary Social Studies and the individual disciplines of Economics, History & Political Science are usually taken as pre-requisites before formal admission into the MAT program.
