
Education Specialist
The Educational Specialist Certificate in Social Studies Education is designed for those who wishes to:
- Increase their knowledge in one or more of the areas of Social Studies
- Try out courses in possible pursuit of a doctoral degree at Wayne State
- Increase their pedagogical knowledge in a Social Studies area
- Do a combination of the first three
Upon completion of 30 or more credit hours of graduate credit beyond your master's degree you should be better prepared to teach social studies, have a better feeling for doctoral work or simply a better educated, more interesting person.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the Social Studies Education Specialist is contingent upon admission to the Graduate School; for requirements, see Admission to the Graduate School.
Plan of Work
A customized Plan of Work of graduate courses (30 credit hours or more) will be completed in consultation with an advisor based upon the needs of the student.
