Secondary Education
Two different programs at the undergraduate, post bachelor or graduate levels are offered for the students interested at the secondary level (6-12):
- Initial Certification program at the bachelor, post bachelor, and graduate level
- Master of Education
Initial Certification Program:The secondary education curriculum leads to a bachelor's degree in education and secondary school teaching certification in the major and minor areas listed below. The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree is designed for students who have completed a bachelor's degree in a non-education program with appropriate teaching majors and minors, and who desire both a master's degree and Michigan Provisional Teaching Certification at the secondary level. Programs offering M.A.T. degree at the secondary level are listed below.
Master of Education (M.Ed.): This program provides certified middle school and high school teachers with opportunities for continuing growth in scholarship, performance, and research to become professional leaders in their school districts. Programs offering M.Ed. degree at the secondary level are listed below.
