High Five Literacy Program

Looking for Help in Reading and Writing for your Children?

The High Five Literacy Program at Wayne State University has openings in its literacy program, which is open to students in first through eighth grade. The program will provide free tutoring in reading and writing skills one day a week from October through April of each academic year. Tutors are graduate students completing a master's program in reading under the supervision of faculty in the Reading, Language, and Literature program.

Program Dates

  • Dates: October through April of each academic year
  • Time: 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Sessions are held on the main campus of Wayne State University in Room 30 on the lower level of the College of Education Building.
  • Upon acceptance to the program, applicants will be contacted with the start date of the program.

Currently no new applications will be accepted for Fall 2018 and Winter 2019 academic year. Applications for the next academic year (2019-2020) will be available in August 2019.
