Education Specialist
The Education Specialist Certificate program is a thirty credit minimum curriculum beyond the master's degree. The certificate program in various curricular areas within the Teacher Education Division are designed to strengthen the educational background of teachers, administrators, and other education professionals. It is a self-contained concentration, separate from other existing programs, with a distinct form of recognition at its completion. This is a planned program, not merely recognition for thirty credits of graduate study accrued beyond the master's degree. The individual student's professional needs and interests are taken into account in determining the specific content of his/her program. The typical plan includes course work in the specialized professional area, and subject matter areas supportive of a major or minor. All course requirements for the various majors are selected in consultation with an adviser.
