CAEP Report

The Initial Certification programs are currently accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) through October 25, 2017.  In 2013 TEAC and another national accrediting body merged to form what is now the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

In order to be granted full accreditation, the program must provide evidence that our program is effective in preparing all teacher candidates seeking initial certification to be proficient educators, ready for the classroom.

The Teacher Education Unit faculty, staff, and administrative team in the College of Education were tasked with preparing a detailed Self-Study Report, submitted in August, 2016. The report provided evidence for each of CAEP's five standards. In addition to addressing the standards, the College needed to provide evidence of the cross-cutting themes diversity and technology and present a Selected Improvement Plan (SIP) for areas for improvement for the impending accreditation cycle.
