Biography

 

Mr. Brian Swinehart has been the director of Athletics and Physical Education with Walled Lake since 2010. Prior to working with Walled Lake Schools, Mr. Swinehart worked with Westland Community Schools as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at John Glenn High School for seven years. He has also work as Middle School Principal. Mr. Swinehart is entering his 28th year in education and 17th year as an Athletic Administrator. He also is a member of the Wayne State staff, where he is an adjunct professor in the Sports Administration program.
Mr. Swinehart has a bachelor’s degree in Education and master's in Athletic Administration, both from Michigan State University.
At Walled Lake Schools, Mr. Swinehart has the opportunity to work with parents, staff, community groups, local business and youth sports organizations. Mr. Swinehart enjoys his role of working with all groups to help develop a positive culture for our athletic programs. His primary focus is to help teach life lessons through athletics. This is evident in in the core values and vision of the district Athletic Department: Building Champions For Life, Through Core Values of Teamwork, Self-Worth, Commitment, Responsibility, Hard Work, Sportsmanship, Character and Discipline.
