Biography

Dr. Lazar has a bachelors degeee from the University of Michigan with a double major in psychology and education. He earned one of his masters from Wayne State University in Kinesiology and the other from the University of Michigan in Educational and Public Administration. Dr. Lazar earned his doctorate from Wayne State University in 2007 majoring in Educaional Leadership and Policy Studies with a Kinesilogy cognate.

Dr. Lazar has been educating for 19 years and has held a number of different positions over the years including teaching as well as building and district level administration. He has had the distinct experience of teaching every grade from pre-school through graduate school as well as special education. Dr. Lazar also sits on a number of local boards of directors and is very active in the community. As recent as 2014 Dr. Lazar was named the Dearborn Public Schools Teacher of the Year.

In addition to all of the practitioner experience aforementioned, Dr. Lazar has conducted and published research. This affords Dr. Lazar the ability to both teach students at Wayne State the pedagogical aspects of education and how to effectively translate pedagogical knowledge into real life school settings - which his students really enjoy and benefit from.
 

Responsibilities

 Kinesiology -- Physical Education -- Teacher Education 

Dr. Lazar teaches several graduate and undergraduate level courses at Wayne State pertaining to Physical Education -- Teacher Education.
