Biography

 Lois Vaughan-Hussain has developed a reputation for delivering powerful, engaging workshops and presentations on specialized services and instruction.  Ms. Vaughan-Hussain is a former secondary teacher and special education supervisor for Detroit Public Schools.  In her current role as a Special Education Compliance Consultant for Wayne County RESA, she provides hands-on support to teachers and administrators with the maintenance of compliance in special education policies and instructional strategies that support the academic and behavioral growth of students with disabilities.  Her expertise is in the areas of Special Education policies and procedures, the delivery of appropriate service models for students with disabilities, and instructional models, interventions, and strategies that work for all learners.  Lois is a graduate of Wayne State University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, Masters of Science in Special Education, and an Educational Specialist certificate in General and Special Education Administration.  Currently, Lois is a Wayne State doctoral student focusing on educational policies that influence the provisions of special education programs and services.
