Welcome To Exercise and Sport Science
This major is designed for students who are interested in pursuing employment in the field of Exercise and Sport Science.
The undergraduate Exercise and Sport Science Track is designed to prepare self-directed students who desire a specialized background to pursue goals in professional or graduate level study in the broad field of exercise and sport science. The program educates students for careers in adult fitness, corporate fitness settings, exercise physiology, athletic training, cardiac and physical rehabilitation, entrepreneurial pursuits in the fitness/wellness business world, etc. Additional postgraduate work and/or certification may be needed for some areas within this specialization.
The specialization in the Kinesiology Master of Education degree is designed to prepare students for careers in areas such as exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, sport psychology, and motor control/development/learning, and measurement and evaluation.
Exercise physiologists tend to specialize into clinical areas such as cardiac rehabilitation, research based exercise physiology {such as performance and heat stress, performance and altitude, fluid balance, intracellular lactate mechanisms, motor functions, and plasticity of muscle fibers}, exercise testing and prescription of athletes, and development of physical fitness programs in prevention of disease and disability.

Usually people only use a small portion of these abilities and find their lives constricted and their self-expression stifled. This lecture offers easy ways to increase your awareness, open all ETC channels, and enrich your life. This lecture should be of interest to art therapists, artists, psychologists, counselors, social workers, teachers, graduate level students, and others would like to learn more about visual media or who are interested in understanding and developing personal awareness and self-expression. Lecture is on April 20th, 6:00pm-7:30pm Dr. Hinz’ book, Expressive Therapies Continuum: A Framework for using Art in Therapy will be available at Marwil’s Bookstore, 4870 Cass Avenue, 832-3078.

Attendees must possess or be within one year of completing a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university. Please bring legible copies of all transcripts to the meeting.
