Wayne State University, through Educational Outreach, offers a 4-course series for Driver Education Certification. These courses, 2 credits each, must be taken individually and sequentially. Each course lasts seven and one-half weeks and is normally offered from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Any matriculated or non-matriculated WSU student may elect to enroll in the driver education program. Students who have never been admitted to a college or university must give evidence of high school graduation or its equivalence to the instructor.
Students must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Michigan driver's license with less than four points within the last two (2) years on their driving record. Candidates for this certification must also pass a criminal background check. Upon completion of the program, the State of Michigan Driver Education Office will receive notice of a student's qualification to teach Driver's Education.
