Office of Clinical Experiences

Welcome to the Office of Clinical Experiences at Wayne State University College of Education. This office coordinates clinical experiences for students in initial teacher licensure programs. We work with students, faculty, staff and school partners in the Metro Detroit area to arrange educational experiences in public schools for students working toward teacher certification. Clinical experiences in real classroom contexts allow future teachers to see, hear, and reflect on the dynamic character of urban classrooms.

Please use the menu click at the left for specific information and materials.  If you have any questions, please contact us via email at OCE@wayne.edu, by phone at (313) 577-9880 or stop by and see us! We are located in Education 221.

The Office of Clinical Experiences arranges the following service learning, pre-student teaching and student teaching placements in collaboration with the program coordinators. As required by the Michigan Department of Education, Wayne State University requires the full term of 15 weeks for full-time preservice clinical experience.
