Educational Technology Endorsement

The College of Education at Wayne State University is pleased to announce a new endorsement available to teachers in the State of Michigan. WSU has been approved by the State Department of Education to offer courses leading to the Educational Technology Endorsement (NP) at the elementary or secondary level.

Teachers with this endorsement are expected to play leadership roles in selecting, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating technology applications in teaching and learning process.

This endorsement requires a minimum of 20 graduate credit hours of coursework. The College of Education has planned this program so that the 20 hours taken for the endorsement may be used in a graduate degree in Learning Design & Technology.

Courses taken for this endorsement will require students to incorporate technology into lessons, select strategies that promote the use and transfer of technological knowledge and skills for their own students.

This program stresses fieldwork by requiring applicants to use appropriate learning technologies with their own students and to support fellow teachers and school administrators’ use of technology-enhanced resources.
